Dr. Joanne Mansell BS, MS, DVM, Dipl ACVP MRCVS
Dr. Mansell received her DVM from the University of Florida in 1989. She completed a residency in Anatomic Pathology at the University of Georgia and became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathology in 1994. She joined the faculty at the University of Georgia in 1993 as Assistant Professor. Dr. Mansell joined the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology in the CVM at Texas A&M in 2000 as Clinical Associate Professor and Chief of Surgical Pathology, became Professor in the department, and is now Emeritus Professor. She specializes in dermatopathology and ran a specialty dermatopathology biopsy service open to clients around the USA.
Dr. Mansell’s interests have included cutaneous paraneoplastic conditions, cutaneous microbiome in domestic animals, and gastrointestinal pathology. She has authored and co-authored over 60 peer reviewed publications and 6 book chapters. She is past president of the International Society of Veterinary Dermatopathology, and has been on the scientific committee of 14 international dermatopathology and pathology meetings. Dr. Mansell is an editorial advisor for the Journal of Comparative Pathology, and provides peer-review of manuscripts for 5 scientific journals.
